Launched in 1982, the Nike Air Force 1 gained fame as a street-style shoe in the hip-hop scene, although it was actually designed as a basketball shoe. The trainer got its name from the US president's plane: the Air Force One. The Nike Air Force 1 is the brand's first trainer with a full air-filled sole for optimal cushioning and support. The shoe has since had quite a few updates, but, alongside the Nike Air Max 1, it remains a Nike classic.
