The Asics Gel-Lyte III trainer was originally released back in 1990 and is among the brand’s most famous models. Asics quickly became the favourite shoe for celebrity runners like Abebe Bikila, Kenji Kimihara and Derek Crayton. The Gel-Lyte III is no exception, with Asics designer Shigeyuki Mitsui using some of Asics’ latest innovations to create one of the world’s most renowned running shoes. The shoe introduced a split-tongue design for a more contoured fit and better overall stability.
